Welcome to Krakow!

Landed from Munich into Krakow’s International airport, and, after grabbing my gear, took a few minutes to figure out my next move. As it turns out, the city center of Krakow is about 20 minutes from the airport, but there’s a free tram from the airport to the train station. From there, for 6Z (Polish currency is called a Zloty – Zah-loh-tee – and $1 = about 2.50Z) you can get to city center by train, and I was pleased to find an English speaking college student on the train who was eager to tell me the protocols and procedures for getting to the right place. Interestingly, Polish countryside looks a lot like Indiana … no kidding, there were chest-high rows of corn everywhere, quaint little villas and suburbs (like Granger, but without the Super Target), and people generally going about their merry way. The weather was a brisk 55 degrees, with overcast and low hanging clouds which, despite its relatively straight-forward pleasantness, gave everything a sort of leaden grey tinge.
